All our delivery vans run on 7% bio diesel which provides substantially reduced fuel costs. Using bio diesel in our delivery vehicles has resulted in a 60% saving on fuel and running costs and reduced our carbon emissions.

Ivan Wood & Sons deliver a full range of fruit and vegetables produce, local when in season. The company also supply a wide range of pre-prepared vegetable products, including the company's famous Woody's Chips.

SALSA certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

In 2006 we bored our land for spring water which now supplies all our business and domestic usage. This produces an annual saving of £24,000 along with an organic, chlorine-free method of washing the produce.

We recycle all of our raw materials including the vegetable peel and trimmings which go to feed local livestock.

In 2011 we installed a 40 kw solar panel system at a cost of £130,000. This runs our refrigeration system and provides electricity for our warehouse. The power we use is equivalent to 2,000 kitchen appliances and, whereas the bill was previously £1,250 per month, it is now averaging £250 per month. It also generates around £12,000 per year from the feed in tariff

Waste water from the potato washer and the topsoil sediment is spread back on the land.

By developing an in-house process to prepare our fresh potato products we no longer import from Holland which saves tens of thousands of road miles per year significantly reducing our carbon footprint.

All the paper, cardboard, and plastic containers brought onto site are recycled by Recycle Fife Ltd and anything that can’t be recycled is put through our onsite smokeless incinerator.

All the products we use to wash our vehicles are biodegradable

Ivan Wood & Sons deliver 6 days per week, Monday to Saturday. The company's manned telephone ordering service operates from 6am until 10pm.

Next day deliveries for fruit and vegetable must be made before 10pm on the day prior to delivery. Next day deliveries for pre-prepared product must be made before 1pm on the day prior to delivery.
